Not a blog. No posting schedule, no life updates, nothing written just to keep a feed warm. What's here is stuff I figured out and reckon is worth passing on: fixes that cost me an afternoon so they don't have to cost you one, how I actually work with AI tooling, and the occasional opinion I've sat on long enough to put my name under.
Most of it comes from work, or from switching Linux flavours on my personal rig way too often. An article stays up as long as it's still right. If it stops being right I fix it, and if it can't be fixed I pull it. N'Joy!

Fixing Chromium virtual backgrounds on NVIDIA + Wayland
Meet's background blur turns your video into a solid white rectangle on NVIDIA + Wayland Chromium. The cause is a Chromium ↔ NVIDIA EGL interop bug in the canvas captureStream path. Two flags work around it; pick based on monitor setup.

Making CoolerControl's GUI start on login
CoolerControl ships a system daemon and a separate Qt GUI. The daemon controls fans at boot regardless of login, but the rpm doesn't install an autostart .desktop for the GUI, so the tray icon never appears. Drop one in `~/.config/autostart/` (or use Plasma's System Settings → Autostart) to fix it.
